Two image turning card.

No quite a Volvelle as it only has a 25% turn, opens up as you turn the top layer- to reveal the inside that says 'Thank You'

I started out making this  Mother's Day Card that opens up the same way, it just has a different saying on the inside.

"To every Season- turn, turn, turn,"
The Bible

Spring brings my Min. Scnnauzer to announce the pesky squirrel in my front yard.

Have you ever heard the saying: "and a feather in his/her cap" ?  I think it means 'an added bonus', what do you think?

The client wanted a Large Mouth Bass instead of the fish I had- no problem as the Bass looks better anyway.

I have fun making these Tri fold cards.  This one has an Easter Egg that the viewer pulls out
...with a secret Inspirational message on the back of the Easter egg.
Corney, huh?

.
Are you mailing Easter cards?

My Mother-In-Law fell, is doing well and her puppy has come to stay with us until Mom is better.
Here she is after a nap in the Studio:

She has a very cute woof but my Miniature Schnauzer is trying to decide who is boss.

Woof,

In my opinion, we need more Teachers and they need to be paid more money.
.
Yes, I know they get the summer off.  If the budget must be cut, why do they always suggest cutting Teachers.  There are more layers in Administration than 20 years ago.  Why do we need more Administration folks than Teacher folks?
.
This is a re-cycled Light bulb I removed the interior parts from.
.
and I added a few miniature items:
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Yellow and blue pencils
- Pencil sharpener
- Teacher magazine
- Blackboard.  Seems silly it is called black as they are all green these days.
.
I had to make one for me:

After I broke out the interior of the used light bulb, and all the tiny shards of glass,  I added:
- An Artist's magazine
- A ruler
- Scissors
- Pencil holder with paint brush, pencil and measure.

The light bulb needed some type of holder as I did not want this one rolling off the desk.  Yes,I broke the first light bulb I cleaned out.
They do not bounce well.

I am considering going back to watercolors.  Some Artists' statements need to be made in that medium and oils about:
- Are they really going to close some Post Offices?
- Are they really going to close some schools?

OK, I will get off my Soap Box now,

When is a Light Bulb not a Light Bulb?
.

Pull out the insides of the light bulb, add some Lavender from last year's crop- ta da resulting in a vase.

Plants do not work well because mold grows.  An isolated Air plant works ok as does boiled sand and dead moss.

Got any suggestions what else I could put inside the light bulb after I remove the insides?

Happy re-purpose,
Petrina

Re cycle light bulb.

Take the inside out of a used light bulb.  Not my idea as I have seen this done via many sites.
I stuck an Air plant inside this one but quickly took it out as I want to re-purpose this into a mini-music room.

Also, have been working on inspirational messages for the fridge.
What are you up to?

I suppose every Artist seeks to make their own design as a stamp.  I had done some Copper Tooling and made some gum eraser cuttings about 20 years ago.  There is something within this Artist that needs to visit a technique every so often.

This one I call, Birdie in Heels or "Oh, my feet are killing me'".

prints out great on an envelope or freckled skin (with food coloring).  I do not think it is good to put ink on your skin as you run the risk of infection.  I hope to try the henna soon.

Happy stamping.  I am looking for a better medium than an eraser.  If you have tried one that works great, please let me know.  I tried a Potatoe but the shelf life is not good, ha.

Happy peals to you,
Petrina
